The Redactor Tote
An ode to Judah the Prince, the third-century sage credited with compiling and redacting the Mishnah. The process of redaction is one of editing and revision.
Commonly referred to simply as ‘Rabbi’ for his influence and widespread acceptance as a cultural and religious leader, Judah compiled the various oral traditions floating around Palestine into one singular written Mishnah. He was the last authoritative personality of the Gamlialite dynasty, a family that wielded significant political power since the destruction of the 2nd Temple in 70 CE.
